About Station Road

Station Road Bistro is a first for Sidcup. A local neighbourhood restaurant that is inspired by the experiences of Head Chef Matthew and the years he spent working in some of London’s top restaurants.

Our menu is modern British. It’s fresh, it’s seasonal and it’s sourced locally. The dishes are created with minimal fuss, focusing on quality of ingredients prepared with care, passion and a love for great tasting food.

The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and welcoming with an open kitchen and style of service that will leave you feeling like you’re part of the family.

About Matthew

Matthew’s career in London restaurants began in Chelsea at the age of 20, working with John Torode at Bluebird, serving British fusion food. Staying with Torode, he went on to work at the renowned Smith of Smithfield’s in Farringdon. This was where his love and appreciation for finest cuts of meat began.

It was his next move though, to Caprice Holdings that his career really blossomed. For over three years he worked in the kitchens at Le Caprice, J Sheekey and the Ivy.

With his reputation growing, an opportunity arose for Matthew to take a positon at Le Pont de la Tour alongside Executive Chef James walker. Later in his career James asked Matthew to help him open Bob Bob Ricard a luxurious British restaurant and champagne bar in the heart of soho.

Station Road Bistro was always the long term dream though. A neighbourhood restaurant all of his own, where he could put his personal stamp on the menu and source all of his own produce.
